Michael Kostiw-Schvester CAO
Born in Germany, raised in Paris, made in Shanghai, I’ve worked extensively with members of Gen-Z from across multiple cultures and nationalities. As a third culture kid, I’ve come to understand how diverse, yet integrated Gen-Z is becoming in both a professional and social setting. With the growth of social media and digital accessibility, the world has gotten much smaller and allowed me to engage and research Gen-Z tendencies and behaviors. Being a part of this digitally native generation, I’ve witnessed what drives us and the ambitions we share for the future on both a personal and societal level.
Over the years, I’ve worked with multiple peer-reviewed publications helping amplify young writer’s work. Currently, I continue to work with an environmental group called The Starfish Canada, helping zoomers voice their ideas and hopes regarding climate change. In the past, I’ve also worked as a writer and editor reporting on veteran affairs across Canada, as well as a content writer for an academic and career consulting firm.
With a double major from the University of British Columbia in Creative Writing and Political Science focusing on International Diplomacy, I hope to better bridge communication gaps across groups whether they be cultural or generational. In doing so, I hope to shed some light on the dilemmas we experience both locally and globally to allow more effective collaboration between groups.
Lastly, I’m a big Toronto Maple Leafs fan and have been playing hockey and soccer for most of my life. Go Leafs Go!!
Please feel free to contact me, I’d be glad to answer any questions and look forward to working with you!
